The name of this organization shall be "Skyblazers Radio Control Club Incorportated"
A social club to foster the general public education concerning radio control activities as applied to the modeling field and to provide social functions for members of the organization and the general public.
Membership is open to anyone who it interested in radio control model aircraft, and in a member in good standing of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA).
The annual dues consist of the following:
The elected club officers shall be:
President
The president shall preside at all meetings of the club and shall act as a spokesperson in all matters pertaining to it.
Vice-President
The Vice-President shall act for the President when he/she is unable to serve.
Secretary
The Secretary shall record the minutes of each Club meeting and handle all correspondence pertaining to Club activities. He/she will also be the Club's contact person with the AMA in case of questions, problems or situations.
Treasurer
The Treasurer shall collect all moneys due and shall keep a record of moneys disbursed by the Club.
Field Marshall
The Field Marshall shall be responsible for establishing "mowing crews" and "moving equipment maintenance." He/she is to ensure that the field is properly maintained and recommend improvement/changes.
Safety Officer
The Safety Officer shall be responsible for chairing the safety committee and ensuring existing safety regulations are enforced. This includes processing the grievance forms and following the existing grievance procedure documented in the by-laws.
Any officer may be voted out by a recall ballot of the Club's membership. The term of elected officers shall be January 1 through December 31. Elections shall be held at the December meeting.
Regular club meetings will be held on the second Monday of each month. The location of the meetings will be announced by the Club President
All AMA club Safety Rules shall be adhered to by every club member and their guests at the flying field. Safety rules shall be posted at the club flying field. Guests of club members must hold a valid AMA membership in order to fly at the club field. No more than four (4) aircraft shall be in the air at anytime.
The By-Laws of the Skyblazers Radio Control Club may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the membership present at the two consecutive regular club meeting, provided notice of proposed changes has been sent to each member one month prior to the vote. These By-Laws last reviewed and updated in 2003.
Any member in good standing may resign his/her membership by giving written notice to the Club. If any member ceases to have the qualification necessary for membership in the AMA, his/her membership in the Club shall thereby terminate, subject to reinstatement upon restoration of eligibility. This section provides for the enforcement of the safety rules that are related to the flying activities. Any other unacceptable behavior by an individual member or members, as defined by the Board of Directors, become the responsibility of the Board of Directors as stated in Article XIII of these By-Laws. Any individual willfully commits any act or omission which is a violation of any of the terms of these articles of incorporation and By-Laws, or the rules of the AMA, or which is detrimental to the Club, the AMA, or to model aviation. Any member who is expelled from membership may be reinstated to membership only by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the board of directors. The Board if Directors shall have the discretionary authority to provide for and to impose disciplinary action for such acts or omissions which do not justify expulsion from membership.
The Corporation may be dissolved with the approval of a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the total membership. Upon the dissolution of the Corporation, the Board shall, after paying or making provision for the payment of all of the liabilities of the Corporation, dispose of all assets of the Corporation exclusively for the purposes of the Corporation in such manner, to the Academy of Model Aeronautics, Inc., or to such organization or organizations organized and operated exclusively for charitable, educational, religious ro scientific purposes as shall at the time qualify as an exempt organization or organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, or to such organization with purposes similar to the purposes of this Corporation as the Board shall determine. Any of such assets not so disposed of shall be disposed of by the Court of Common Pleas (or similar court) of the county of which the principal office of this Corporation is then located, exclusively for such purposes and to such organization or organizations, as said court shall determine, which are organized and operated exclusively for such purposes.
The Grievance Procedure provides a mechanism to enforce existing safety rules by providing a progressive disciplinary system when needed. Although most complaints can be resolved informally, the matter should be referred to the Safety Committee for its consideration by means of a grievance form to be filled out and turned into the Safety Committee Chairman. (The Safety Committee shall consist of all current members attending that meeting.) At least one witness is required to sign the Grievance form.
